Hi there,
welcome to this weblog dedicated to the culture of ancient Egypt and to the archaeology of that country. I’m a (fictional) archaeologist with a doctoral degree from Miskatonic University in Arkham, Massachusetts, which is also fictional.
During my time as a research fellow for the Archaeology department at said university I took part in numerous excavations in Egypt. I continued my studies on the language and culture of this ancient civilisation in the Nile valley for two decades by now. Almost five years of this time I spent living in the bustling city of Cairo which I tend to flee from time to time to travel the world.
Some of the entries of this weblog will be written by a woman named Ta-khat. She was born to the royal family in the ancient city of Memphis and lived in Egypt during the reign of Ramesses II., Merenptah and Sety II., ancient and proud kings who ruled the land on the Nile more than 3000 years ago. It was a troubled and dangerous time of which she will tell us in her journal’s entries.
And at last my adventurous little sister has the pleasure to entertain the audience with everything concerning movies, television, games and books loosely connected to archaeology and ancient Egypt. She is conducting her own research on the history of this archaic civilisation, but has yet to finish her PhD. She also has years of experience working in the field, which she may share with you.
